An ethnoliterary travel book
This ethnological travel book takes readers to the Colombian Valle de Sibundoy, the home of the indigenous Ingá and Kamsá people. Not least, her own search for healing has led the author to this place several times, where, as an ethnology student, she was particularly interested in the local medical practices, rituals, myths and festivals. In this book, she tells of the indigenous "carnival", which has very little in common with ours and still plays a central role in the cultural and spiritual life of the inhabitants of the Sibundoy Valley.
With humor and self-irony, the author brings the history and culture of the Ingá and Kamsá closer to the readers and raises many questions about their own culture.
