An ethnoliterary travel book
This ethnological travel book takes readers to the Colombian Valle de Sibundoy, the home of the indigenous Ingá and Kamsá people. Not least, her own search for healing led the author to this place several times in the 1990s, where, as an ethnology student, she was particularly interested in the local medical practices, rituals, myths and festivals.
In this book she tells of the indigenous "carnival", which has very little in common with ours and which still plays a central role in the cultural and spiritual life of the inhabitants of the Sibundoy Valley.
With humor and self-irony, the author brings the history and culture of the Ingá and Kamsá closer to the readers and raises many questions about their own culture.

The fiesta del arcoíris: a journey through the Valle de Sibundoy, the anthropologist and English writer Margrit Jütte represents a bello and profound acercamiento of the ancestral culturas of the Nuestro País. With an impronta personal, a toque crítico y una narration fluida, Margrit aborda el significado de este carnaval desde el punto de vista de una extranjera que desea aprender y dejarse llevar por la música y el baile de mano de sus anfitriones Inga y kamsá. Ella logra entrar en esta dinámica mitológica, pero también es una extraña, y desde esa confrontación cultural recorremos otras visiones del ser en un mundo amplio y ajeno. This book contains 80 pages and a large argumentative content that allows it to be published by the Colombian public and for the purpose of this festival, which has the armament with the planet, the reconciliación, the posibilidad de sanarnos como sociedad y the sabiduría mediante the metáfora del arcoíris.
